Written in the Sky II Original by Chloe Nugent

Chloe Nugent was born, raised and currently resides in the Heart of England. She studied Art and Design at college and graduated from university with an honours degree in Clothing and Textile Design. She predominantly worked in the sports and leisurewear industry, designing and developing with world famous brands, including football kits for local, national and international teams. While on maternity leave with her second child, Chloe started to produce artwork originally for her home but found that every piece she produced was being quickly whisked away by family and friends! “It was such I compliment that they wanted my artwork to have in their homes, even though my walls were left bare!.” It was at this point that Chloe decided that she wanted to form a career in art.

“I find inspiration in all sorts of places and take a sketch book everywhere I go, many are now filled to bursting point with weird and wonderful things: colours, textures, photographs, leaves, fabrics, cuttings from magazines etc. It’s all about experimenting and playing with all sorts of conventional and unconventional materials, finding ways of creating new and exciting images. I didn’t use my sketch books properly while at college or university and found them quite a chore but now they are vital (especially as I have such an awful short term memory, often leading to ‘shopping’ lists and ‘ to do’ lists’ being jotted down in them too!).“

“The high-gloss, three dimensional artwork I create is a result of months of experimentation. Each piece needs to go through numerous stages to get to a finished work. I try to make every one of my unique pieces as sumptuous and opulent as possible, making them beautiful to the eye and almost irresistible to touch.”

“Most of all I want my pieces to be enjoyed as much as I have enjoyed creating them.”
